James A. Shortill

Jamie Shortill is a Partner at WhiteRock where he focuses on sports, entertainment and real estate related opportunities around the world.

He is also the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Los Angeles-based venture capital firm Strand Venture Partners that invests in disruptive businesses across multiple industry verticals.

Prior to joining WhiteRock, Shortill was a Director and Head of the Capital Group at a sports focused investment bank directing principal investments, corporate financing and M&A transactions within professional sports and sports based businesses. Formerly, he was appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of a sports & entertainment technology firm that after multiple capital financings was acquired by Social Sector Ventures.

Throughout this career, Shortill was a Principal in the Media & Entertainment Practice of PwC-Pricewaterhouse Coopers (formerly Diamond Technology Partners) and also Senior Director in the Corporate Group at William Morris Agency (now WME-Endeavor). His investment banking career started with Colliers International focused on institutional real estate transactions.

Shortill holds an MBA from Thunderbird- American Graduate School of International Management and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Western Ontario.
