Frank Utermoehlen is a Partner at WhiteRock, an advisory firm working on M&A transactions and capital raises in the technology, sports & entertainment sectors.
Prior to joining WhiteRock, Frank spent nearly 28 years at Microsoft as an International Sales & Marketing Executive. He has more than 25 years of business experience in marketing, strategic relationships, channel and sales selling at the executive level, where he excelled. Under his leadership, many key global programs have been developed: e.g. “Software Developer Program for Windows”, “Software Asset Management” (SAM). In addition, he incubated new channels (“OEM@Retail”, “Emerging Market Program”) and implemented the benchmark model for Sales & Marketing execution, meetings and reviews.
Frank is considered a strong organizational leader with over 25 years of demonstrated ability as a Leader of large international teams. Most importantly, he has extensive experience in implementing restructuring in complex and culturally diverse environments. In his professional development he focused around people management, Partner Management, negotiations, leadership and internationalization.
Frank Utermoehlen has a deep understanding of developing markets for technology, software & cloud services. From initial creation of revenue strategy, marketing & GTM planning, building partner frameworks, negotiating & closing deals, and developing teams to manage the ecosystem. During this time, he has witnessed Microsoft´s journey from a startup in 1987, with 50 employees in Germany, to a global leader in the IT industry.
His academic path began at the University of Karlsruhe, where he completed a double degree in economics and computer science with a focus on marketing. Meanwhile, he currently teaches Strategic Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Leadership Principles at the EU Business School in Munich. Further, Frank is a certified Business Coach & Change Management Consultant.
Since 2018 Frank Utermoehlen is a Startup Consultant at the LMU Entrepreneurship Center, the German Accelerator, the NRW Scale Up Program and a juror at the GA „Cash Walk“.
